Quick chocolate cake recipe

From the "good things need to be shared" section, a recipe that's been floating around my mother's side of the family, for some really delicious chocolate cake. While rich in sugar and fat, it doesn't involve flour, so it should be suitable for people looking for gluten-free recipes.

200g are 7.05 ounces.
If I'm reading a cups-to-grammes conversion list correctly, we're talking
8/9 cup butter
1 1/3 cups ground almonds
8/9 cup sugar
I presume 1 packet vanilla sugar would be 4 teaspoons; the brand we have says 1 packet is "for 500g of flour", 500g being 1.1 pounds. You could probably replace it with a little vanilla aroma, or leave it out entirely.

200g butter
200g dark chocolate (60% cocoa content)
200g ground almonds
200g sugar
1 packet vanilla sugar (meant for 500g flour)
1/2 packet (2 teaspoons) baking soda
4 eggs

Melt the butter and chocolate.

Add almonds, sugar, vanilla sugar and baking soda, and mix.

Whisk in eggs one by one.

Put into a round pan and bake for 40 minutes at 160° C (320 F) upper and lower heat.

The original recipe I got called for sifting powdered sugar on top after letting it cool, but I don't think that's neccessary. It's plenty rich as it is.

Fiction plans

I may have mentioned before, but anyway: I'd like to write a serial, related to that one dragon mites flashfic - people asked for more, and there is more, sort-of. Now I just need to figure out how to go about writing it (well, and actually writing it, too). Currently I'm hung up on the question if it's for one or two viewpoint characters. Tending to two right now.

Either next week or the one after is the 2 year anniversary of me posting my first weekly (with breaks) bits of flash fiction to my blog, so around then would be a good time to start.

The Friday flash stuff is tomething I'd like to keep up, though, so another thing I'm considering is a "Flash Fiction Fishbowl" to solicit prompts to build a bit of a buffer. Anyone want to get in early/have something they'd like me to tackle?

Meanwhile I've tried recovering Vista on my little laptop (on whose keyboard typing is way more pleasant than on this one, so for more writing that would be good), since yWriter is buggy in Ubuntu, without success.

And some other stuff, including gardening, and something that with a bit of editing might come to a drabble to post on Friday.

Also, more draggies:
