Where to keep writing/worldbuilding notes

Wiki in general
pros:
  • MADE FOR interlinking
  • features like automatic TOCs for a page, categories...
Online Wiki
pros:
  • I already have a start
  • Reachable from multiple computers
  • I can show it to other people, or make it private
cons:
  • needs internet access
  • the "this is public"/"this may be public again in future" WILL get in the way of taking spontaneous notes.
  • Needs to be updated for security, and if the add-ons I used to get the structure like I wanted it grow incompatible with the later versions, I'm shit out of luck.

Offline Wiki
pros:
  • Doesn't need internet access to work on
  • Not public, so no reason to feel self-conscious about what I put in
  • optional: I could keep a complete wiki offline, and copy "clean" enough stuff to an online wiki, without having to change formatting (beyond removing links to not-yet-existing pages)
cons:
  • Without additional work, only available on one computer
  • Needs a webserver to run
  • I'm not sure I can build the setup I want again, because of aforementioned "add-on-not-compatible-with-recent-version" problem

Scrivener File(s)
pros:
  • Doesn't need internet access to work on
  • Not public, so no reason to feel self-conscious about what I put in
  • Relatively easy to get the whole thing into a printable format, should fancy strike me that way
  • Without additional work, only available on one computer (but I've already set up dropbox synching for the fiction Scrivener files, so I'd say it's easier than for the wiki)
cons:
  • I haven't really figured out links yet
  • No "compatible" online version
Evernote
pros:
  • Editable from multiple devices, including my phone
cons:
  • Need to either keep it on a separate account from my normal one, which is a bit of a pain to switch between, or keep stuff on the account I have already, mixed with cooking recipes and such
  • I don't even know if I can link between notes.
....
